Privacy Policy
The short version: Scrubshot doesn’t collect any data. Your screenshots and photos are processed on your iPhone and never leave it.
In one sentence: we have no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no ads, so there is nothing about you for us to collect, sell or lose.
What the app accesses
Your photo library. With your permission, Scrubshot reads your screenshots and the images you choose so you can redact them, saves redacted copies to a “Redacted” album, and deletes an original only when you ask it to (iOS also asks you to confirm). Images are processed in memory on your device.
Images shared to Scrubshot. When you use Share → Scrubshot, Scrub Screenshot or Quick Scrub, the app receives a copy of that one image from iOS and processes it on your device.
How detection works
Text, faces and QR codes are found with Apple’s on-device frameworks (Vision and Natural Language). The “Describe what to hide” feature uses Apple’s on-device foundation model. None of these send your images or text to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your device
- Your settings, such as what to hide, the redaction style and your “Always hide” words.
- How many free redactions you’ve used, stored in the app and in your device’s Keychain so it survives reinstalling.
- Whether you own Scrubshot Pro, as verified by Apple on your device.
This information never leaves your iPhone except as part of your own device backups.
Purchases
Scrubshot Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, email, payment details or Apple Account information.
Analytics, tracking and ads
Scrubshot contains no analytics, advertising or third-party SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may provide us anonymized crash reports. These don’t include your images.
This website
scrubshot.app uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and its fonts are hosted on this site. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses and similar technical data to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Children
Scrubshot is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date above. If Scrubshot ever needed to collect data, we would ask you first.
